Last night I saw the future Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, play conga drums for Moby. Eric also performed a stirring rendition of “Porcelain” on keyboards.
Eric’s father, Gil Garcetti, served at District Attorney for eight years. Gil also happens to be an accomplished photographer, and giant prints of his work adorn the walls of the NPR office in Culver City. He also once had an exhibit at the Smithsonian.
This is Los Angeles, where artists literally run the show.
