I heard that Marian Goodell (aka Maid Marian) one of the primary Burning Man organizers since the mid ’90s had a father who named a railroad the Dagny Taggart. As I’m reading Atlas Shrugged right now I had to look it up. Turns out it’s not a railline, but a single private rail car (classy nonetheless) called the Dagny Taggart.

Joe Goodell was the CEO of the very Randian sounding American Brass Company for a decade. In my searches I found this picture of Joe Goodell and his four daughters. That’s Marian on the left. I had to post.

I like Marian. I’ve always found her to be strong and iconoclastic. She has a background in finance and runs an operation for success. She’s also not scared to tell someone what she really thinks or exhaust her team along the way. She’ll probably smirk at me for saying this, but she’s pretty darn Randian now that I think about it.
